JOLIET -- A man with an extensive criminal record remained Wednesday night in Will County Jail on a $250,000 bond, accused of sexually assaulting a woman over the weekend in Bolingbrook.
Ferlimo L. Morris, a 34-year-old forklift driver, faces trial in Will County Circuit Court on charges of criminal sexual assault, unlawful restraint, possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia, according to court records.
Bolingbrook police arrested Morris at 7:45 p.m. Saturday at his home on the 1100 block of Country Ridge Drive, police Sgt. John Sullivan confirmed Wednesday. He was charged with sexually assaulting a woman acquaintance and holding her against her will.
Sullivan declined to comment further on the case.
Morris has served jail time in connection with five misdemeanor crimes committed in 2006 and last year in Glen Ellyn and Lombard, according to records on file in DuPage County Circuit Court in Wheaton.
They include an August 2006 arrest for possession of drug paraphernalia in Glen Ellyn; a March 2007 charge of criminal damage to property in Lombard; a June 2007 arrest for trespassing in Lombard; an August 2007 domestic battery complaint in Lombard; and violating an order of protection last October in Lombard, court records showed.
Morris' arraignment date in Will County is pending.
